Since 2022, a growing community-building process in Meadowbank has brought together children, junior youth, young people, parents and grandparents—and it is still learning and evolving.

Beginning with children and families
The story began with children’s festivals in Meadowbank. Families were invited through conversations in parks and streets, notices in local shops, libraries and community centres, and the neighbourhood Facebook group.
Each festival became a chance to build relationships, listen to families and reflect together on what children and young people need in order to flourish.
